Irish airline Ryanair is testing a brand new service to improve flight comfort by providing entertainment on longer journeys. The new idea is to stream movies and TV programs directly to mobile devices belonging to passengers.
Most airlines have built-in screens built into the seats to keep passengers entertained and do not get bored during long hours. Low cost airlines can not afford such luxury, because for low ticket prices they have to save on everything. This does not mean, however, the need to give up small pleasures.
Most passengers have their own laptops, smartphones or tablets, so Ryanair came up with the idea to stream movies and series to such devices. This is a cheaper solution than screen installation and is equally functional. Moreover, the carrier does not intend to charge any extra fee, which is a very nice surprise. But there is nothing free, so the lines will want to compensate by displaying ads.Tweet
